Looking for a KitchTech Alternative?

KitchTech is strong in kitchens. The usual reason to look elsewhere is that you stopped being only a kitchen.

KitchTech states it is used by over 5,000 kitchens. For restaurants, hotels and contract catering that is a well proven fit, and their label printing and eLearning modules are things we do not offer.

If you are looking anyway, it is usually for one of three reasons.

Everything stated here about KitchTech comes from their own website and public materials, and was checked in August 2026. Products change. Ask them directly before you decide, and tell us if anything below is out of date.

1. You moved from serving food to making it

The most common reason, and the most legitimate. A café that starts wholesaling, a deli that begins supplying local retail, a kitchen that adds a production unit. The moment you sell to another business, the requirements change.

You now need batch codes at production, ingredient lots linked to runs, recipes carrying allergen data, and a trace that reaches a named customer with a quantity. A customer audit will test it under time.

What to look for: ask any vendor to trace a real batch of yours back to supplier lot and forward to customer, and time it. See how ours does it and what happened at Pizza Sorrento, who went paper to digital in four weeks and took BRC AA.

2. You are supplying the multiples now

Tesco, Aldi, Lidl, SuperValu and Dunnes all run supplier approval, and a scheme audit is a different test from an EHO inspection. Timed traceability, mass balance, allergen control evidenced rather than described.

What to look for: a system that holds the HACCP plan and the records together, so a random date produces an answer. See what BRCGS Issue 9 requires.

3. You want to see a price before a sales call

KitchTech asks you to book a demo. That is a normal way to sell software and it is not a criticism, but it is slow if you are simply working out whether something is affordable.

Ours is published: €19.99 or €79 per site per month, unlimited users, no contract. Work out five sites in your head right now.

When you should stay with KitchTech

  • You run kitchens and nothing else, and it is working
  • You use their food label printing at the counter
  • You use their eLearning for staff training
  • You want HACCP, temperature, documents, audits, labels and training in one dashboard, and value that over depth in any one of them

If you switch

  1. Export your records first. You may be legally obliged to keep them.
  2. Run both in parallel for a fortnight. Never switch a compliance system cold.
  3. Move at a quiet point, not before an audit.
  4. Put it on real phones in a real service before committing. Adoption decides this.
